Forward Momentum

Fiction.jpg

All writers want readers to stay up late with a book they can’t put down, but too often they’re the ones to provide opportunities to stop reading. Learn about maintaining forward momentum by creating a story throughline, building conflict and tension, using chapter beginnings and endings, and engaging readers with characters and dialogue they cannot forget.

Class will include:

  • Coursework: audio/visual and written lecture materials

  • Reading assignments

  • Weekly writing assignments with critique/feedback

This is a four-week online class and a one-day onsite workshop. Students can engage anytime. At the beginning of the course you will receive a syllabus, list of required and suggested readings, and course schedule. You are encouraged to email the instructor with any questions you may have at any time before, during, or after the course.
