This class will offer insights into how to research and write historical fiction that takes biases into account and emphasizes the novelist's responsibility to be as accurate as possible. It covers researching historical places and people, assessing information, structuring a research project, creating and recreating historical characters, planning and structuring your plot, and writing believable dialogue.

This is a nine-week online class. Students can engage anytime. At the beginning of the course you will receive a syllabus, list of required and suggested readings, and course schedule.
